The Emperor commands a city worthy of Rome’s legacy. As an architect, you raise residental blocks, administrative quarters, cultural hotspots, and monuments, weaving them into a prosperous metropolis. Every district you place shapes the flow of wealth, faith, and influence within your walls. At the end, the city that shines brightest under the Emperor’s gaze wins eternal glory!

In Magna Roma, players take on the role of architects tasked by the Emperor to design the next great Roman city. Each turn, a player drafts a city tile and places it in their growing 5×5 grid. Placing tiles creates and connects half-symbols that form complete icons, which immediately grant resources such as coins, population, legions, faith, or luxuries. Matching colors produces greater rewards, while mixed colors yield smaller but still valuable benefits. After tile placement, players may take optional actions: construct mighty Monuments by investing coins and population, send Legions to conquer provinces for end-game points, or use Blessings from the gods to re-trigger tile effects. 

Throughout the game, players advance on the Market, Military, and Pantheon boards, unlocking trades, bonuses, and powerful scoring opportunities. Careful positioning of tiles also pushes progress on the City Dashboard tracks, which determine multipliers and unlock extra rewards. Once every city is complete, final scoring evaluates Monuments, Provinces, Districts, and multipliers from the Market and Pantheon. The architect who crafts the most prosperous and prestigious Roman city earns eternal glory.
